Like your own body, your shadow is a constant companion. There are only two ways to escape it: close your eyes or go where no light can reach. In these moments, we can see only one thing instead, Eigengrau (german: your own gray). Without light to divide, the shadow no longer follows, it simply becomes part of you
Building on this concept, we are developing an editorial that approaches darkness and shadow not as mere byproducts of light, but as their equal and intentional counterparts. At the center of the narrative is a male model, whose portraits are paired with still lifes of the products and close-ups of the garments’ textures. These diptychs serve as a central stylistic device, creating a visual dialogue between light and shadow.
