PROJECT 002 is the evolution of an ongoing collaboration between HELIOT EMIL and the Italian design studio NM3. The furniture collection, presented in the urban context of the Heliot Emil studio in Copenhagen and the NM3 showroom in Milan, features three stainless steel crafted pieces—a coffee table, a side table, and a shelf unit—encapsulating the strong and innovative identity of two entities that complete each other’s vision. The result is the creation of pieces that are both functional and sculptural, with a particular commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.
While PROJECT 001 focused more on homeware and smaller objects, this second collection shifts its focus to the creation of furniture pieces, forming the core elements of HELIOT EMIL’s universe. These are the ideal items to furnish the homes of HELIOT EMIL customers. The new line reflects the shared aesthetic principles of both brands, focusing on minimalism, geometric design, and the raw feel derived from industrial materials. The pieces are rich in multifunctional details, embodying the same signature know-how that HELIOT EMIL applies to making clothes.
The collection of furniture is meticulously crafted using classic metal carpentry techniques, including 2D laser cutting. All materials are carefully selected from Italian suppliers and come together to create the Shelf Unit, Coffee Table, and Side Table. The items are handcrafted in Italy by skilled specialists dedicated to the limited production of artisanal products. Originally conceived as a single design, these items have been developed to be modular, resulting in three different versions of the same original concept: the Shelf Unit, Coffee Table, and Side Table.
Coffee Table
The concept of the table specifically revolves around the idea of creating a versatile furniture piece that can be used in multiple ways. This multifunctional design allows the table to adapt to various settings and purposes, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of its users.
Side Table
The side table presented at the event is the first of three furniture pieces that we are developing in collaboration with NM3.
Shelf Unit
The idea behind the Shelf Unit is to provide storage while serving as a striking focal point in any room. A modular design that combines form and function, ensuring endurance as a timeless piece of utilitarian art.
Following this launch, a seating system and a bench will be added to the range, each designed with the same minimalist and industrial aesthetic that defines this partnership. The upcoming pieces will continue to represent the shared design language of Heliot Emil and NM3, characterized by a sleek display and functional elegance.
